This is very interesting, and a great use for some of these technologies that are currently being dubbed “Web 2.0″ (Lord, I hate that phrase,even though yesterday I found myself using the phrases ‘old web’ and ‘new web’).
Podbop is one of these increasingly-popular web “mashups” (an award-winning one, no less). Powered by listings site Eventful (itself a nice, clean, Ajaxy site), Podbop will allow you to subscribe to a Podcast of what gigs are going on in your area, and even attach an MP3 of the band’s stuff to clue you in on it. It’s an excellent idea, which is obviously only any use if people use it so I’m doing my bit to get the word out. The next 4 Stupid dates are listed on Eventful now, I’ve created a Stupid page on Podbop and linked a couple of songs to it.
