Living with the Dvico TViX HD M-4000 PA - Wallpaper

The TViX is pretty no-nonsense when it comes to the interface; you basically get a folder hierarchy you can navigate through, and it displays all the files it can play. There’s no AppleTVesque eye-candy, just what you need to watch your videos, play your music or view your pictures. I guess it’s because of this that I was interested to try out the ‘Wallpaper’ function, which will allow you to drop a jpg into a folder and have that picture act as the backdrop for that folder menu.

Unfortunately, even after following the instructions in the manual (call the file tvix.jpg - the case doesn’t matter, a size of 720×480 is recommended), I couldn’t get the damn thing to display. A post at the TViX Box Forumsyielded the solution; the manual’s wrong. Apparently the case of the file name DOES matter - it MUST be a case-sensitive TViX.jpg, and the file must be EXACTLY 720×480.
