Halloween 2007 - Comic Book Pumpkins
This year, rather than once again use the brilliant templates from Zombie Pumpkins, I decided to make my own pumpkin templates in the image of characters from graphic novels.
I thought Sin City would be a good place to start, as it’ already very stylised and so lent itself better to be turned into stencils. I tried Kevin, the pointy-nailed cannibal…
and Marv, the indestructible, coat-loving anti-hero.
For similar reasons - the already being monochrome - I thought I’d try one of Watchmen’s inkblot vigilante, Rorschach
I then got a bit ambitious and tried 2 characters from Preacher. I cut my finger whilst working on the Saint Of Killers and accidentally cut off his nose in the process, so that one didn’t work out so well. I’m quite pleased with how the failed-suicide rock star Arseface turned out though
Last, but not least, let’s not forget that it IS Halloween, so something scary should be carved. The nameless man came to town to build an army from the undead, but even the undead fear… The Goon!
All in all, I was quite pleased with how they turned out.
