yes i did the network share through netshare, but i would really like to control the mp3s through my laptop instead of the TVIX Screen (so i can change songs easily, shuffle, jump to songs i want through my laptop)

is that possible? I think roku soundbridge does this but not sure about TVIX

You could set up a playlist (save it as a .M3u file) and play that from the TViX. Or you could use SMB to share the music folders on your PC and play them across the network using the TViX, missing out Winamp completely.

followed site through TVIX forums. Got a quick for you:

I Have a TVIX M4000 (same as you) and i was wondering if there was a way to control the mp3s i play through my PC.

example:

Use winamp to play the mp3s (real time, can shuffle, pick songs etc) and have this directly stream real time to the TVIX box

is this possible?
